Mostly about effectivity vs. efficiency in terms of game programming.
Fractal Image Compression
I stumbled a simple but interesting of compresssing images: detecting fractal shapes. That's for sure not the cleverest idea due to possibly highly unique image content. But I think the concept bears a really great amount of potential, especially when it doesn't only try to compress pixel blocks, but also gradients and color flow, effectively as lossy compression by ignoring a few of the original details. I might give this a try and experiment using my new toolkit. Array and vector operations are quite easy to do with my macro set, so this shouldn't a problem.
